Blue Gum Community School

Blue Gum Community School is a wonderful small school in Canberra, for 3 to 16 year olds, that continues to grow. Early Childhood Teachers and Assistants needed.

Blue Gum attracts dedicated teachers and teaching assistants who are passionate about seeing all students as competent, capable, creative, responsible, resourceful and resilient.

Our teachers work hard to create irresistible learning environments for students.

Teaching teams, in our PreSchool and Primary School, work with multi‐age classes of 20‐25 students, where students’ diversity is seen as a rich resource.

Our Middle School and High School Classes have 14 students with a core Advisor teacher.

Blue Gum is a school community for creative, independent thinkers ‐ students, teachers and parents.   Blue Gum is an exciting place where students explore the rich possibilities of childhood and adolescence, while becoming independent and interdependent.   Blue Gum is not religion‐based, though families’ differing beliefs are respected.   Blue Gum’s ethos is grounded in the Australian tradition of ‘a fair go’ ‐ a strong commitment to social justice, especially the right of each student to feel valued; develop a sense of belonging; and be equipped with the essential academic and interpersonal skills for success and a meaningful life with others.
