Program Description

REsearch Conversations is an REAIE network group that meets in the northern suburbs of Sydney, organised by a team of volunteer convenors.

It is designed for teachers who have a desire to intentionally come together to build strong collegial connections and to explore the inspiration and provocation of the Reggio Emilia Educational Project in Northern Italy.

Each term we host and facilitate opportunities for educators to connect and learn together through professional conversation, research and the sharing of ideas. A strong value that guides our times together is a commitment to ‘delve deep’ in our thinking about the nature of education, learning and humanity.

Our research in 2018 will be shaped by the notion of education as a ‘landscape of transformation’. This focus has been chosen as a way of pre-researching ideas of transformation ahead of the 2019 REAIE Conference in Perth, which carries the same theme.

PLEASE NOTE

To protect the integrity of the research we undertake each year, and to support the developing group dynamic, we ask those joining to commit ahead of time to attend all meetings in a given year (within reason). As such, please carefully consider the dates of meetings before joining.

COST

Meetings are FREE for members of REAIE. This group is only open to all Individual and Organisational Members of REAIE.

Before you register

• Pre-check the meeting dates to see if this group will work for you. We are requesting a genuine commitment to attend ALL 4 meetings.

• Check your REAIE membership status – renew or become a member.

• Formally register for the group by Friday 23 February.

• See you at the first meeting on Tuesday 6 March!

What’s next?

Once you have registered, we will forward you a welcome email with some additional information about the first meeting.

We hope that our times together will lead to shared research across services, as well as deepen and challenge our understandings of our own practice and pedagogy in relation to the values and principles of the educational project of Reggio Emilia.

If you would like to discuss the group further, before committing, please feel free to email the REsearch Conversations Convenors with any questions.
