Mosaic of Marks, Words, Materials Exhibition

Exciting Opportunity: Join as a Professional Learning Facilitator for the Mosaic of Marks, Words, and Materials Exhibition

Are you committed to education and advocacy for children’s rights, particularly in showcasing their creative expressions, thinking processes, and the diverse ways they communicate and construct meaning through the metaphor of the hundred languages?

The Mosaic of Marks, Words, and Materials exhibition is coming to Australia in 2025, and we are seeking local facilitators—or those willing to self-fund travel to host locations—who are ready to inspire and engage educators in transformative professional learning experiences.

This unique opportunity invites you to collaborate with Reggio Emilia Australia Information Exchange (REAIE) and represent the philosophy and vision behind the Mosaic of Marks exhibition. As a Professional Learning Facilitator, you’ll play a vital role in fostering intellectual and creative dialogue, championing children’s rights, and celebrating the profound ideas embedded in this exhibition.

About the Exhibition

The Mosaic of Marks, Words, and Materials is more than an exhibition—it is a democratic space inspired by Reggio Emilia’s metaphor of the piazza, a place of exchange, dialogue, and community. It brings to light children’s processes of thinking and creativity, exploring how marks, words, and materials give shape to ideas, stories, and meaning-making.

Central to this exhibition is the principle of the hundred languages, which reflects the many ways children express themselves, communicate, and contribute to the collective understanding of the world. This principle invites participants to see children as active citizens, constructors of knowledge, and vital contributors to cultural and social dialogue.
