As educators, we stand at a pivotal moment. The way we listen to children, the spaces we create, and the materials we offer shape the culture of childhood — and, ultimately, our future communities.
The NSW Eastern Suburbs Network invites you to the Mosaic of Marks, Words and Materials exhibition and together, we will witness the extraordinary ways children think, create, and communicate through drawing, mark-making, and storytelling.
It’s a step into the challenge before us — an urgent call to action.
At a recent keynote, Elena Maccaferri, pedagogista from the Preschools and Infant-toddler Centres – Istituzione of the Municipality of Reggio Emilia, posed two compelling questions:
“If not now, when? If not us, who?”
When will we make the time to reflect, be inspired, and reimagine our practice?
Who will take responsibility for amplifying the voices of children and elevating their thinking?
To deepen our engagement, we will be joined by an expert facilitator who will guide us in unpacking the exhibition’s provocations and exploring how they can transform our work.
Together, we are shaping lives, communities, and the culture of our future.
“This is not easy work – but it is essential work.
This is why we show up.”, REAIE 2025
