Program Description

REAIE is proud to present an introductory seminar which details important aspects of the history, philosophy and educational practices of the Pre-schools and Infant Toddler Centres of Reggio Emilia, Italy.

This seminar is intended as an introduction to the educational project of Reggio Emilia together with an insight into how the Reggio Emilia approach is interpreted in Australian contexts.

Participants will learn about the why, what and how of the educational project of Reggio Emilia, including:

  • the history, culture and context of Reggio Emilia
  • the core principles of the Reggio Emilia approach to education
  • some of the provocations and implications of this approach for Australian Educators
  • snapshots of moments and projects that celebrate the capacity of children as protagonists of their own learning
  • the importance of the environment, relationships and listening in teaching and learning

Morning tea is included.

Following the seminar, participants with receive a certificate of attendance.
