Masterclass Atelier Experience: Encountering the Research of Mosaic of Marks, Words, Material
Encounter the Mosaic of Marks, Words, Material exhibition and atelier in an enriching and generative way. Facilitated by an atelierista with deep insight into the research from Reggio Emilia’s municipal infant-toddler centres and preschools, this experience invites educators into a space of reciprocal dialogue, where theory, materials, and pedagogical practice interweave.
Through close engagement with the exhibition, participants will be immersed in the poetic and cognitive possibilities of children’s mark-making. The metaphor of the mosaic offers a lens to explore the dynamic interplay between drawing, narrative, and meaning-making.
This masterclass invites you to:
- Create and curate learning contexts and palettes of materials
- Engage with the Mosaic: Explore how graphic tools, surfaces, and words are in dialogue with children in the construction of knowledge.
- Reflect on Documentation as Dialogue: Reimagine pedagogical documentation as a living narrative that honours the complexity of children’s thoughts and expressions.
- Bridge Research and Practice: Connect the conceptual threads of the exhibition with your pedagogical context to inspire new approaches to teaching and learning.
Why Attend:
- Deepen Your Understanding: Be intellectually and creatively challenged through encounters with the research that underpins the exhibition.
- Foster Collaborative Inquiry: Join a community of educators committed to thinking together, listening deeply, and responding with intention.
- Reimagine Education: Leave with renewed perspectives on how to create contexts for learning that honour the expressive, relational, and cognitive richness of children’s encounters.
