Continuing the threads of metacognition; thinking about thinking
In this meeting, we would like to continue our discussions about metacognition. Not only with children but also our own metacognition.
Because although it is so important to reflect, document and research children’s metacognitive processes, thinking deeply about your own metacognition is vital to your own professional learning journey.
One of the questions we would like you to continue to reflect on before the meeting and bring your thoughts to share:
How do we as co-researchers (and co-learners) document children’s – and our own metacognition?
We would like to mention that we recognise the barriers that zoom can sometimes create for people in sharing their thoughts. However, we’d like to offer you the opportunity to reflect on the possibility for challenging yourself as professional learners. Challenge yourself and go beyond that comfort zone we are all so delighted to sit within, and please offer to share your thoughts during our meeting.
We have given you the question we will be discussing for reflection in advance for those who like to have more time to think.
Because this is our last meeting all together for the year let’s celebrate! Sure it’s been a very crazy, different, at times stressful and challenging year…let’s rejoice together with a drink on zoom!
PLEASE NOTE
To build the integrity of the research we undertake each year, and to support the developing group dynamic in building relationships of inquiry, we ask those joining to commit ahead of time to attend as many meetings as possible each year.
