Program Description

To the extraordinary group of people who have been on the journey with Jessica and myself over the last three years, we are reaching out to reconnect before the end of 2020!

This has been an extraordinary year for us all and we could not let it end without meeting with you. We have missed you and our thought-provoking conversations that transformed our thinking, and the relationships we forged together. In the words of Loris Malaguzzi, we have created a space where there is “a willingness to question all our own abilities, our knowledge, to become humble. Only then will you be able to listen to the child and adult, and to set off on a common search, to educate each other together”.

It is so important to acknowledge and celebrate our conversations in 2019, where our focus over the four meetings was the Landscape of Transformation. It began with sharing about the RE Study Tour in January 2019, leading to “Do you consider your child as a thinker and a theory maker”, followed by ‘How do we challenge through education and advocacy, the culture of early childhood education’? In the words of Tiziana Filippini she challenged us to “think broadly and have a big dream because we are the influencers of our young children”. In our last meeting we created an atelier with the possibility of ‘transforming our relationship with materials’. In this coming together, we had the opportunity to reflect on our own relationship with ‘otherness’ and the potential materials have in transforming our ways of feeling, seeing, listening and knowing ourselves more deeply. Little did we know what 2020 would bring and that it would take us this long to reconnect!

INVITATION OVER ZOOM
We invite you to join us for a virtual dinner party, to celebrate together again our relationships and continue the conversation and provocations.

PROVOCATIONS
‘Please reflect on this year and find something good that has come out of this for you to share’?
This led us to think of children’s perceptions and what they would say about their experience during this time of COVID19.
Can you share your knowledge of children’s insights during this time and what they highlight?

Our research and learning over the past years have evolved through the extraordinary contributions from everyone in the group and we thank you for your commitment. We look forward to continuing the conversations at our next meeting over dinner, see you then.
