2020 has been an unprecedented year in terms of unrest, uncertainty, fear and disruption.
REAIE acknowledges that 2020 has been an unsettling time for educational services including children, families and educators, and have endeavoured to be responsive to the changing professional learning needs of its members. To that end, an Online Piazza was developed and has been populated by a range of new offerings, including webinars, podcasts, a forum and blogs. We hope that these professional learning tools have been inspiring and have assisted you in navigating the rocky terrain?
The REAIE Committee recognises the emotional burden of the year and understood that the responsibility of convening the Melbourne Network Group was a task too great for one individual. Therefore, when the position of convenor was advertised, we were pleasantly surprised with more than one expression of interest. We convened a meeting and suggested an agreement of collaboration for the convenor role. Kerrie O’Neill volunteered to mentor and assist the reformulation of the group, until the newly formed group feel confident to proceed on their own. The collaborative committee is constituted of the following REAIE members who have generously offered their time to this endeavour. They are Masud Ahmmed, Jo Dowling, Sue Knowles, Sally-Anne Polson and Tonii Tran.
This group have already met twice and are enthusiastically embracing new ideas and directions for 2021.
The first meeting with the newly formed convening group will be held online on Wednesday 25 November at 7.30pm. This meeting will be introductory and pivotal in determining the direction of the group in 2021. We hope that you will all be able to attend. We have developed a small survey for you to express your thoughts and desires for this group in the future. Please click here to complete the survey by Monday 23 November.
