This workshop has been designed to offer an opportunity to learn about and reflect on one of the integral and structuring elements of the educational project of Reggio Emilia. It will demonstrate how to give value and make explicit and visible, the learning processes of children and adults. It will highlight the importance of observation to create documentation that is shareable; for communicative relationships with families, for professional learning and for assessment of learning.
ABOUT THE PRESENTER:
Sheryle Yorston is an experienced early childhood teacher, long-time member of REAIE and a founding member of the Adelaide Network. Her experiences include teaching in a variety of South Australian early childhood settings, early childhood leadership and tertiary education. Sheryle currently also coordinates private professional for REAIE.
Sheryle has participated in 2 study tours to Reggio Emilia and continues to be challenged, excited and inspired by the principles of the educational project of Reggio Emilia and the possibilities they offer to positively impact on the lives and learning of children, families, educators and communities. She is passionate about exploring the possibilities with others.
