Mosaic of Marks Exhibition - Rockhampton, QLD
Encountering the Mosaic of Marks, Words, and Materials: An Interactive Atelier
“To speak to the world about children’s infinite wealth of potential, their ability to wonder and investigate, their ability to co-construct their knowledge through active and original relational processes: this has always been the primary objective of the exhibit.”
— Loris Malaguzzi, Mosaic of Marks, Words, Material (2015)
This first-of-its-kind atelier experience in Australia invites you to explore the powerful expressive languages of children through an interactive encounter with the internationally celebrated exhibition The Mosaic of Marks, Words, Material. Through hands-on engagement with materials, participants are encouraged to see the world through the eyes of a child—curious, creative, and full of potential.
More than a workshop, this is an invitation to discover the atelier as a space of democratic learning and aesthetic inquiry—where thinking, feeling, and making come together. This immersive encounter honours the atelier as:
- A place where ideas come to life through research
- A studio where materials, tools, and relationships shape new knowledge
- A space where the hundred languages of learning become a way of researching, interpreting, and experiencing the world.
We invite you to engage in a series of professional learning experiences designed to deepen your understanding of the concepts within the exhibition and the research of the infant-toddler centres and preschools of Reggio Emilia.
Venue: CQUniversity Rockhampton North, 554/700 Yaamba Rd, Norman Gardens QLD 4701
