National Reconciliation Week 2025 – 27 May to 3 June

REAIE recognises the vital role that all those working with children play in fostering respect, understanding, and inclusion. During National Reconciliation Week, we reflect on our shared history and renew our commitment to meaningful actions that strengthen relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and all Australians.

This year’s theme, “Bridging Now to Next,” calls on us to honour the lessons of the past while actively shaping a more inclusive future. Let us embrace the wisdom, cultures, and contributions of First Nations Peoples, ensuring that their stories and knowledge are embedded in our daily practice and learning environments.

All those working with children share a responsibility to empower them to develop a deep sense of respect and connection with the rich cultural heritage that makes up our nation. Let us stand together in promoting truth, justice, and reconciliation – so the generations we nurture today grow into compassionate, informed citizens who value diversity and unity.

This Reconciliation Week, the REAIE reaffirms its commitment to listening, learning, and taking meaningful action that honours the spirit of reconciliation—both within our organisation and beyond. As we bridge the present to the future, let us strive to create a world where understanding, respect, and unity are at the heart of every child’s educational experience.
