2025 REAIE Annual General Meeting

Emanuela Vercalli and Cristian Fabbi

We warmly invited you to the Reggio Emilia Australia Information Exchange (REAIE) 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Tuesday 29 April at 7.30pm (AEST) on Zoom.

We’re excited to share that we have 3 guest speakers from Reggio Emilia: Cristian Fabbi, President, Reggio Children · Emanuela Vercalli, Responsible for International Relations and Reggio Children International Network Coordinator · Federico Ruozzi, new President of Istituzione.

Invited speakers will share new initiatives occurring within their job sphere of Reggio Children or the Istituzione.

As a new Board is elected at the AGM, members are encouraged to reflect on the purpose, vision, mission, values and work of REAIE and consider nominating for the Board, to support the progress of REAIE and its work.

Board roles are voluntary and can be both rewarding and demanding. A commitment of personal time, energy and dedication is needed. Members considering nominating for the Board are encouraged to be aware of the importance and expectation of attending meetings, participating in at least one Task Group in addition to Board meetings and responsibilities. Board participation should not be considered a role for personal benefit, such as professional learning or gain. Board and Task Group meetings are held monthly.

The Board has important functions including:

·       Providing strategic leadership.

·       Ensuring the organisation is financially viable and meets legal and legislative requirements.

·       Determining how REAIE will further its purpose and meet the interests of members.

The work of the Board is spread across a range of projects including professional learning, a biennial conference, publications, study tours, advocacy, international relations and working in collaboration with other organisations.

·   The REAIE Board invites you to consider nominating yourself or another REAIE member who you think would make a positive contribution to the organisation by completing the Board nomination form by 9am on Tuesday 15 April, 2025.

Alternatively, members may also consider supporting a Task Group (eg. Conference, Research Symposium) as a co-opted member. This can be a positive first step and introduction to the work of the Committee.

All nominees must agree to the organisation’s Board Member Expectation and Responsibilities and Attendance Policy, and be current financial members of REAIE. Those supporting a member’s nomination must also be current financial members of REAIE.

Any resignations from current REAIE Board Members or nominations for re-election should also be received in writing by 9am on Tuesday 15 April, 2025.

The Board can comprise up to 11 members. There is currently one vacancy and 3 serving Board members due for re-election, should they wish to renominate.

In accordance with the REAIE constitution, an election will be conducted if nominations exceed vacant Board places. If an election is required, it will be conducted by electronic vote at the meeting.

We hope you might consider membership of the REAIE Board. We also hope to see you at the Annual General Meeting.
