Thank you for clarifying research and what it means in the Australian context of early childhood. I have been on a journey to understand the complicity of research with children and to co-learn along side children. This has clarified a better understanding and how I can support and work alongside teachers in a collective research topic – Sarah Tracey’s Eight ‘Big Tent’ Criteria for Excellent Qualitative Research will support further connection and understanding or topics we are curious about with children.
It opened my understanding of a researcher and other things to take into consideration
A good understanding why researchers and educators choose to seek children’s perspectives. It’s also highlighted some of the key considerations when seeing children as having the right to contribute to decisions that affect them.
