2024 REAIE Annual General Meeting
REAIE invites you to the Reggio Emilia Australia Information Exchange (REAIE) 2024 Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 30 April at 7.30pm (AEST) on Zoom.
Guest speakers: Cristian Fabbi (President, Reggio Children) and Emanuela Vercalli (Responsible for International Relations and Reggio Children International Network Coordinator)
As a new Committee is elected at the AGM, members are encouraged to reflect on the purpose, mission, values and work of REAIE and consider nominating for the Committee, to support the progress of REAIE and its work.
Committee roles are voluntary and can be both rewarding and demanding. A commitment of personal time, energy and dedication is needed. Members considering nominating for the Committee are encouraged to be aware of the importance and expectation of attending meetings, and participating in at least one Task Group, in addition to Committee meetings and responsibilities. Committee participation should not be considered a role for personal benefit, such as professional learning or gain. (Committee and Task Group meetings are held monthly).
The Committee fulfils important functions including:
- Providing strategic leadership.
- Ensuring the organisation is financially viable and meets legal and legislative requirements.
- Determining how REAIE will further its purpose and meet the interests of members.
- Supporting the organisation across 4 key professional learning focus areas (Task Groups): Conference, Research Symposium, Events/Schedules and Content Development and Delivery.
The work of the Committee is spread across a range of projects including professional learning, a biennial conference, publications, study groups, international relations and working in collaboration with other organisations.
The REAIE Committee invites you to consider nominating yourself or another REAIE member who you think would make a positive contribution to the organisation.
Alternatively, members may also consider supporting a Task Group (eg. Conference, Research Symposium) as a co-opted member. This can be a positive first step and introduction to the work of the Committee.
Due to the Special General Meeting being held on Monday 15 April, Committee nominations will open on Tuesday 16 April and close at 9am on Monday 22 April.
Please Note – if members pass the updated Constitution, (at the 15 April Special General Meeting), then Committee nominations will be open to all financial members of REAIE regardless of the length of membership or the type of membership that is held. If the updated Constitution is not passed (at the 15 April Special General Meeting) then the current rules apply, which is that all Committee nominations, as well as those supporting the nomination must be financial members of REAIE for a minimum of two years.
All nominees must agree to the organisation’s Committee Code of Expectations and Attendance Policy.
Any resignations from current REAIE Committee members or nominations for re-election should also be received in writing by 9am on 22 April, 2024.
The Committee can comprise up to 11 members. There are 6 serving Committee members due for re-election, should they wish to renominate.

In accordance with the REAIE Constitution, an election will be conducted if nominations exceed vacant Committee places. If an election is required, it will be conducted by electronic vote. All nominees will be contacted when the results of the election are determined in the week following the Annual General Meeting and results will be announced in the following Challenge Journal, e-blast and/or REAIE newsletter.
We hope you might consider membership of the REAIE Committee or a Task Group if that suits you better. Please click here if this is of interest to you.
