What type of curriculum do educators in Reggio Emilia use?

The educators in Reggio Emilia use the word progettazione to describe their ‘curriculum’.

Progettazione: (as used by Reggio educators) implies a more global and flexible approach in which initial hypotheses are made about classroom work, as well as staff development and relationships with parents, but these are subject to modification and changes of direction as the actual work progresses.

Projects are used as a vehicle for the expression of and research about the educational values of Reggio Emilia. Different values more prominent in different projects and grows in many directions without an overall ordering principle but always anchored by the teacher’s original intent.
