Program Description

An Introduction to the Reggio Emilia Approach details the history, philosophy and educational practices of the Pre-schools and Infant Toddler Centres of Reggio Emilia, Italy.

Filled with inspiring projects from Reggio Emilia, this evening seminar provides an insight into the provocations and implications of the Reggio Emilia approach for Australian educators.

Participants will learn the what, how and why of the educational project of Reggio Emilia, including:

  • the history, culture and context of Reggio Emilia
  • the core principles of the Reggio Emilia approach
  • snapshots of moments and projects that celebrate the capacity of children as protagonists of their own learning
  • the importance of the environment, relationships and listening in teaching and learning
