REAIE Network Groups

Network groups operate throughout Australia as a local forum for discussion, debate and research.

Each group provides a place for members to debate pedagogical practice within Australian educational settings in response to the provocation of the educational project of Reggio Emilia. Network groups are open to all REAIE members and invited guests.

The REAIE Network Groups:

“bring together, for the purpose of creating a strong network, like-minded educators interested in further developing and extending their knowledge of the values and principles of the educational project of Reggio Emilia”.

State & Territory Networks:

  • Contribute to the advocacy work of the National REAIE committee in advocating for children’s rights and active citizenship within their own State or Territory context
  • Provide a forum for mutual support and exchange enabling educators to share ideas and experiences in relation to the values and principles of the educational project of Reggio Emilia
  • Create communities of practice whereby educators reflect on and challenge their own practice and pedagogy as they make reference to the values and principles of the Reggio Emilia educational project

REAIE Network Groups aim to:

  • Actively promote the initiatives, vision and mission  of REAIE ensuring a cohesive sense of purpose and direction across and within each State or Territory
  • Facilitate professional learning and collaboration through the establishment of communities of practice whereby members deepen their understanding of the their own practice and pedagogy in relation to the values and principles of the educational project of Reggio Emilia
  • Provide forums whereby members feel a sense of connection to and learn with and from each other. This may take the form of (online and face to face)  dialogue/discussion groups; resource sharing and participation in research projects sponsored by the national Committee
  • Organise centre/school visits, which serve as provocations for deepening learning and further the reciprocal exchange of practice and values
  • Support members to share their practice and research projects via authorship of articles for The Challenge
  • Generate new membership in order to ensure continuity of the work of REAIE at local and national levels
